A semi-urban site provides a park-like setting for a new residence designed to encourage indoor-outdoor living while retaining privacy and comfort.
This classic San Francisco family home was refreshed, so it could be passed onto the next generation. The renovation required all the systems and finishes to be updated, and restored to their former glory. The primary challenge was incorporating a modern working kitchen into the floor plan. The goal was to create an expansive light filled space for family holiday gatherings. The breakfast area was expanded into the rear yard to gain access to a redesigned sculpture garden. The early 1900’s plaster and trim work were also preserved and restored. The result is a simple and timeless space. A transformation that will bring the home into the next decades in style.
A new contemporary residence on a spectacular lot overlooking Mt. Tam. The design maximizes impact through thoughtful siting to capture views and work with the hillside topography. It features an open floor plan and numerous indoor/outdoor living spaces. The home was completed as a spec project for a master builder friend.
This long neglected home was a time capsule from the 1970's and required new everything. After months of digging in the sand to replace the foundation, all new systems, windows, etc... a stunning new home emerged from this extensive renovation. Our favorite spaces include the expansive master suite with a new bay to capture the bridge views, restoration and embellishment of many classic Mediterranean features, and everyone's favorite, a below grade basketball court. Completed while Principal at Aleck Wilson Architects.
